Ride: Buyeo, South Korea to Gongju, South Korea
Distance: 34.4km
Terrain: Although we didn’t know it at the time, this was our last ride of the entire honeymoon, and we’re so glad we finished it this way. Short, only a few hills, clearly signposted, and perfect weather throughout. The cycling gods were definitely smiling upon us with this most enjoyable finale.
Today was a very short day on the Four Rivers Trail, so we got to sleep in until 9:30 AM and didn’t hit the road until just before 11. After navigating through town, we found the bike path again by the river and rode along merrily. It wasn’t without its climbs, mind you, but they were more long than steep, and after a couple of weeks on the road, they barely cost us a thought.
There was also a portion of the path that was on the main road itself, although it was separated by a barrier, and that’s the only time we felt a bit uncomfortable as the space was quite tight. But all in all, it was a brilliant day. So much so, in fact, that we don’t have much else to say about this segment. It was utterly delightful and we just soaked it in.
